Dermal Filler Aesthetics Treatment Before and After March '24

This client came to me asking about lip filler treatments. After consultation we determined it was best to focus on the nasolabial lines. Follow my client's journey.
Follow my client's story from consultation to after-care as she receives a nasolabial dermal filler treatment. 1ml of dermal filler product was used, and she chose to be treated with a premium product. Step 1: Dermal Filler Consultation

This client came to me initially asking about lip fillers. In the UK, as well as 'Botox', wrinkle relaxing treatments, lip fillers are one of the most popular aesthetics treatments. In a recent article, This is proposed to be due to changing social norms towards the treatments.
At my clinic in CV MakeUp Studio, Cardiff Bay, we met for our face-to-face, free, no obligation consultation. This client came to me asking for lip fillers. She had received lip filler treatment over a year ago from a different aesthetic practitioner, but felt the look had degraded. It is natural for dermal filler to typically last between 6 and 9 months. However in this case it was clear that my client retains filler well as her lips had maintained the shape very well.
From a longer discussion with my client, we identified it was her nasolabial lines which were causing her dissatisfaction. This is a normal contour of a face, but gets deeper and lined with natural ageing. We discussed how addressing these lines would not only soften this area with a natural appearance, but also enhance the appearance of her lips slightly.
Step 2: Dermal Filler Treatment
Since dermal filler treatments use non-prescription products, any beautician can administer the procedure. However it is only because of my 20 years of experience as a qualified aesthetics nurse that I was able to advise against more lip fillers, instead identifying the need to address the nasolabial lines. If not administered correctly, not only are these reactions likely to be worse, but the desired effect is less likely to be achieved. I typically recommend clients to take cooling-off time to consider the proposed treatment fully. However since this client had given explicit informed consent, and we had discussed her aesthetics treatment plan in detail, we went ahead with treatment. This client chose to go ahead with 1ml dermal filler to her nasolabial lines. The product best for her was identified to be Juvederm™. The client chose to receive her treatment at my clinic in Cardiff Bay. As a medical professional it is my responsibility to take before photos as evidence for treatment and client care. The client shared her consent to have these images shared.
Step 3: Dermal Filler Post Treatment
At the consultation phase I always discuss the possible reactions that an aesthetics treatment can cause. This ensures informed consent. Understanding your medical-history is important for understanding the likelihood of reactions. I also offer advise as to how to deal with these side effects, as well as after-care recommendations.
After receiving dermal filler you should avoid heat, pressure on the area, and alcohol for at least 24 hours. You should also avoid using chemical peels, cosmeceutical products (retinols, vitamin A creams), and oil based makeup for 24 hours. I am always available post treatment to answer any questions or concerns.
The effects of dermal filler are fast acting. Results can be seen almost immediately. My client was happy to share the below after photos I took for medical reference.
